1. Product Overview

LOFT steel structure floor slabs are a new type of building panel manufactured using natural fibers and cement as raw materials. The production process encompasses pulping, forming, cutting, pressing and curing. Classified as green building materials, they feature outstanding environmental performance alongside excellent moisture and fire resistance.
These slabs are fabricated with siliceous materials as the primary base, cellulose fibers as the reinforcing agent, and supplementary auxiliary materials. They are formed via the Hatschek process and cured under high pressure, making them a high-performance modern construction material. They boast multiple advantages: light weight, high strength, water resistance, corrosion resistance, fire resistance, large dimensions, favorable processability and enhanced construction efficiency. They are widely employed in both residential and industrial construction projects.
LOFT steel structure floor slabs have become the preferred panel for building construction, mezzanine floors and interlayer floors. With the growing popularity of buildings with a storey height of 5,000–6,000 mm that allow flexible space division, these slabs enable easy construction of mezzanines. They can transform a single storey into two, effectively doubling the usable space.
Traditional floor slab materials, such as wood boards, multi-layer composite boards and steel plates, have various inherent drawbacks. The emergence of LOFT steel structure floor slabs has effectively addressed the key limitations of traditional materials, including high cost, poor fire resistance and low strength.

2. Relationship Between Common Thicknesses of LOFT Steel Structure Floor Slabs and Steel Beam Spacing

  1. 15 mm: Suitable for steel beam spacing of 400 mm × 400 mm
  2. 18 mm: Suitable for steel beam spacing of 488 mm × 488 mm
  3. 20 mm: Suitable for steel beam spacing of 600 mm × 600 mm
  4. 24 mm: Suitable for steel beam spacing of 1000 mm × 600 mm
  5. 30 mm: Suitable for steel beam spacing of 1200 mm × 600 mm

3. Installation Instructions for LOFT Steel Structure Floor Slabs

  1. There is a slight disparity between the longitudinal and transverse flexural strengths of high-density fiber cement pressure boards. Therefore, the longitudinal direction of the slab must be installed parallel to the main beams.
  2. The edges of joints between adjacent slabs must rest on the same steel beam. The slab joints shall be sealed with silicone sealant or filled with mortar.
  3. No edge of any slab shall be suspended without support.
  4. The length of self-tapping screws for fixation shall be 30–35 mm greater than the thickness of the slab. The screw spacing shall be between 300 mm and 600 mm. The distance from the center of screw holes to the slab edges should be approximately 20 mm.
  5. For kitchens and bathrooms, waterproof layers are required. These areas usually have smaller areas and lower static and live loads. Consequently, a slightly thinner floor slab can be used, or the issue can be resolved by adopting steel sections with smaller specifications.

4. Main Specifications of LOFT Steel Structure Floor Slabs
