What is a outdoor decking?
Historically, "plank roads" were mountain roads built along cliffs, famously constructed as early as China's Warring States period. In the 3rd century BC, the State of Qin built such roads to access Sichuan, a feat of engineering that inspired awe. Traditionally made from wood, modern decking boards now utilize advanced materials like concrete, wood-plastic composites, or glass, with fiber cement emerging as a premier choice.
Fiber cement decking boards, featuring realistic wood-grain surfaces, are now extensively used to restore historical trails in scenic areas and for laying paths in parks, bridges, and various outdoor spaces. Compared to traditional wood, they offer vastly easier maintenance, reducing long-term workload for park management. They are immune to rot and insect damage, and possess inherent fire resistance, waterproofing, and excellent weather durability, all while being environmentally friendly.
This makes them the ideal material for modern landscape architecture, scenic area engineering, and high-end decorative construction. They are widely applied in ground paving, building exteriors, docks, and fencing where aesthetic appeal is paramount.
Product Advantages:
Authentic Aesthetics: Preserves realistic wood texture and color, blending seamlessly with natural landscapes.
Safety & Function: The embossed texture provides essential anti-slip properties for outdoor use.
Superior Durability: Offers a perfect balance of practicality and beauty, with inherent防腐 (anti-corrosion), fireproof, and waterproof characteristics.
Sustainable Choice: An ideal, high-performance alternative to natural wood.
Product introduction:
I. production technology:
The outdoor decking is manufactured from inorganic materials, including natural Portland cement, quartz sand, other siliceous and calcareous materials, and mineral plant fibers. It undergoes a sophisticated production process of over ten stages, such as pulping, molding, compression under a high-tonnage press, steam curing in a high-temperature and high-pressure autoclave, and surface coating with advanced spray equipment.
The core substrate is a high-density fiber cement board. Through stringent application of various coating techniques, the finish exhibits exceptional resistance to freezing, UV exposure, and weathering, establishing this wood-grain decking board as a premium product in its category.
Structurally, the board comprises three primary layers: a wood-grain material surface layer, a high-strength concrete base for structural integrity, and integrated reinforcement for applications with special load-bearing requirements.
II. Product features
This product offers excellent performance in fire prevention, water resistance, corrosion resistance, moisture resistance, moth and insect resistance, and theft prevention. It is also free of bacteria, toxins, and pollution, and requires no maintenance.
With the same workability as natural wood, it can be nailed, drilled, and glued. The surface is smooth and refined, requiring no sanding or additional painting due to its strong paint adhesion. It can also be painted according to personal preference.
The product eliminates natural wood defects such as cracking, warping, and color variation, thereby eliminating the need for regular maintenance.
Utilizing unique technology, it can be customized to meet various specifications, sizes, shapes, and thickness requirements. A wide range of designs, colors, and wood-grain finishes are available without the need for polishing or painting, reducing processing costs and offering customers more options.
The product has a long service life and can be reused multiple times, lasting on average more than five times longer than wood. Its usage cost is only 1/2 to 1/3 that of wood, offering outstanding cost-effectiveness. It also features high strength and energy efficiency, and is suitable for secondary processing.
The product is durable, lightweight, thermally insulating, and has a smooth surface. It is free of formaldehyde and other harmful substances, making it non-toxic and pollution-free.
Environmental Protection: Made from composite materials such as cement, gravel, and iron oxide through molded casting, it mimics the appearance of wood while helping to reduce deforestation.
Design: Smooth overall texture with a realistic wood grain and good slip resistance.
Construction: Factory-produced as finished products, they are delivered to the site for quick and simple installation, similar to laying ordinary stone.
Usage: While inspired by real wood, it surpasses natural wood in texture and color consistency. Though the tactile feel differs slightly from real wood, it offers excellent wear resistance—equivalent to twice that of C20 concrete. Under normal pedestrian traffic, it shows no significant wear for up to five years, providing a long-lasting solution.
Appearance: The wood grain and color are formed during the board production process, effectively avoiding the drawbacks of surface painting on traditional plank boards. Colors and surface effects can be customized to blend seamlessly with the surrounding environment and meet functional needs.
Durability: With a long service life and minimal maintenance requirements, it offers the lowest lifecycle cost. Proven in practical applications, the material demonstrates high wear resistance, strong weather resistance, and excellent adhesion.
III. Application scope:
This product is widely used in various outdoor wooden landscapes, including paving boards, balcony floors, square decking, boardwalks, docks, fences, railings, handrails, flower boxes, grape trellises, exterior decorative panels, and more.
Construction companies, designers, and contractors may select the product according to the specific requirements of their projects.
