Product Overview of Fair-Faced Boards

I. External Factors Affecting Fair-Faced Boards

  1. Temperature
Temperature is the primary factor influencing the drying rate of eucalyptus veneers. Higher temperatures increase the moisture pressure within the veneers and reduce the viscosity of free liquid water, which facilitates the flow and diffusion of moisture in the veneers. However, it is important to note that excessively high temperatures can cause the veneers to crack, deform, lose mechanical strength, and discolor. Therefore, temperature must be properly controlled during the production process.
  2. Humidity
Relative humidity is another critical factor affecting the drying rate of eucalyptus veneers. For fair-faced boards, under the same temperature and air velocity conditions, higher relative humidity leads to a higher water vapor partial pressure inside the eucalyptus veneers. This makes it harder for moisture on the veneer surface to evaporate, resulting in a slower drying rate. Conversely, lower relative humidity accelerates surface moisture evaporation, reduces the moisture content of the surface layer, increases the moisture content gradient, enhances moisture diffusion, and thus speeds up the drying process.
Fair-faced boards boast excellent practical value when used as decorative boards. They are green building materials made from high-quality fiber cement boards through processes such as grinding, wire drawing, and polishing. Retaining the inherent properties of fiber cement boards, fair-faced boards also incorporate the characteristics of fair-faced concrete. They are fire-resistant, moisture-proof, and corrosion-resistant.
A genuine fair-faced board is completely water-impermeable. When water is sprinkled on its surface, it forms water droplets, just like water beading on lotus leaves. In contrast, when water is applied to ordinary concrete hanging boards, it seeps into the concrete surface without forming droplets. The water on fair-faced boards remains in bead form, and the boards have a certain self-cleaning ability—these water droplets can carry away dust accumulated on the surface, keeping the boards as bright as new.
Fair-faced boards also feature quick and convenient construction, and they are classified as green building materials. Commonly used as wall decorative boards, their smooth surface allows for direct application without additional finishing or treatment. The standard thickness of fair-faced boards ranges from 12mm to 15mm, and custom thicknesses are available. As lightweight boards, they can be reused and are installed efficiently using the dry-hanging method.

Application Fields of Fair-Faced Boards

  • Public Buildings: Interior and exterior walls of theaters, museums, parks, schools, libraries, gymnasiums, office buildings, and other public facilities.
  • Infrastructure & Commercial Projects: Underground spaces such as subways and tunnels, as well as construction projects including gymnasiums, hotels, and schools.
  • Home Decoration: Kitchens, living room feature walls, bathrooms, etc.
  • Exterior Walls: Decorative exterior walls, steel structure envelope decoration, etc.
  • Interior Decoration: Walls, ceilings, balcony guards, various non-load-bearing partitions, lightweight partition walls, etc.
Fair-faced boards showcase the simple natural color, rugged appearance, and elegant texture of concrete, exuding a sense of solemn dignity.
With uniform color and distinct edges and corners, fair-faced boards elevate the aesthetic level of architectural art while achieving more harmonious visual effects and more cost-effective results. As green building materials, they are safe and healthy, maximizing resource conservation, environmental protection, and pollution reduction, and providing people with healthy and practical living and working spaces.
Fair-faced walls are recognized internationally in the construction industry as a benchmark for fashionable, safe, green, concise, and aesthetically pleasing building materials.
The fair-faced finish embodies a design philosophy of being simple yet sophisticated.
